Alternative Interview Attire

Ladies and Gents it's around that time of year where everyone's looking for that dream internship or summer job! It's easy to drift away from the traditional interview attire. Black suit and tie for the men while the ladies wear a white button down shirt with a black pencil skirt. Personally I'm tired of the same old professional wear. It's about time to switch it up! Here are some alternative interview outfit ideas that brings life to your appearance while still being deemed professional.

We all know what traditional professional wear looks like and if not look down below.

Pop of color:

There's nothing wrong with keeping it traditional but with our generation we tend to see fit for a bit of change.

If you want to go with the all black suit or white top with a pencil skirt, add an accessory that gives a subtle touch to your outfit.

Ladies:

Jewelry, don't let it be to overwhelming and when I say overwhelming I mean big bodacious jewelry. A dashing necklace or bracelet will do. For college students on a budget Forever 21 and Charlotte Russee has really cute Jewelry that won't empty your purses.

Gents:

Watches are an amazing addition to any outfit especially professional wear. Finding a neat watch with an eye catching band is a great accessory to go along with a suit. Not only are watches great but ties and handkerchiefs can give you that pop of color that you may be looking for. Be bold

Ladies depending on the professional setting stunt on the interviewer with a bold blazer whether it has a floral design or an extraordinary color; don't be afraid to stand out and make a bold first impression. Now if you are going on an interview with a company like IBM who is known for their traditional professional wear then I wouldn't recommend the colorful blazer. I would however chose a black blazer that's shaped differently than the average women's blazer. The same goes for the gentlemen.

I could never forget about shoes. Ladies and Gents make a statement with your shoes. Find your style and embrace it while preparing for your interview.

DON'T FORGET.....

The most important part of your outfit is you! Make your first impression a great one and don't let your outfit do all the expressing. It is best to be yourself on any interview, just give it all you got and stand out with your alternative interview outfit!
