Nightmare of Healthy Eating in College

I don't know about all college students but I know that eating healthy in college isn't the easiest thing to do. College is a time when students either gain the freshman fifteen or conquer it. I was able to conquer the freshman fifteen by following these helpful tips.

TIP 1:

Salad isn't the most exciting meal but it does have health benefits in the long run. Depending on your college cafe customize your salad by adding toppings!

TIP 2: Have a balanced meal. Try your best to refrain from greasy food and foods that are high in carbs. If you want french fries try not to get fried chicken tenders with it. Instead look for a healthy alternative like grilled chicken or something that is not fried.

TIP 3: Overeating and late eating will do no justice. It's hard not to eat late at night, especially when studying usually takes place during the night. If you are tempted to eat late get a small healthy snack that will satisfy your late night craving.

TIP 4: Everyone has a sweet tooth! Treat yourself but not frequently. If you had a great week of eating healthy then it's okay to indulge a little.

TIP 5: Stay active, eating healthy is great but it's more effective when physical activity is involved. Hit the gym and if you don't have the time or money for a gym; You-Tube is a great tool that has various workout videos.

TIP 6: Be consistent, this is the most important tip. Inconsistency leads to slip ups. Develop a routine that fits your lifestyle. Create weekly goals and daily goals that are S.M.A.R.T! Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Timely.
